Maasai sharing the blessings

The rich cultural heritage and knowledge of ancient customs and wisdom that we have preserved has made us a unique treasure in the world.

MAA Technical and Vocational College Association: MAA PASTORAL EDUCATION NETWORK (MAAPEN)

This is a non-profit organization, located in Maasai Mara, Narok County, Kenya.

According to the recent census, the population of Kenya is 53 million.

While Narok county is 1,157,873, the average household size in Narok is 4.8.

MAAPEN seeks social innovation through the reintegrating agenda-setting of the Maa Community with global and local partners. Specifically, in holistic education- politico- social- and cultural Intelligence.

This is in keeping with the pillar of prosperity, planet and profit and SDG 2030.

However, we blueprint the agenda:

1 -No Poverty;

2 -Good Health and Well-Being;

3 -Quality Education;

4 -Gender Equality;

5 -Reduced inequalities;

6 -Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Our pilot focuses on building The Last Maasai Museum, Gallery & Wilderness Cultural Centre.

The global ultra-modern and intercultural facility will feature historic high points of Maa people, which will later metamorphosize to The First Maasai Cultural Learning Centre.

Equally, skills are transferrable to reconciliation and economic mainstay in similar global contexts, challenged with undefined culture and development to community co-existence.

The premier documentary of 100 years of Maasai culture helps to establish the rich historical domain, attributable to Kenyan patriotism and Maa cultural heritage.

The Maa community heroism predates colonial times and continues to take advantage of the economic upturn. Tourist excitedly pose for photos with Maasai. Other communities optimize the Maa in “safari brochures, Coffee Tables, Mobile Phone ads. While this is admirable, the presence of Maasai Moja (the Last Maasai )and MAAPEN, reintroduces cultural pride and celebrating inter and intra community heritage.

Specifically, MAAPEN reorders community harmony and inclusivity through peaceful co-existence of Maasai sub-clans and neighbouring tribes in Kenya through education, preservation of cultures, and environmental economics.

Also, we minimise land conflict, reduce air pollution through green economy, and decrease human-wildlife conflict through realistic, credible, gender inclusive and proactive community participation with the Government and Communities.
